📖 Frequently Asked Questions

❓ Is my data backed up to the cloud?
No, Time Tracker is 100% offline. Your tasks, time logs, and settings are stored only on your device. There is no cloud backup or sync. If you uninstall the app or switch phones, your data will not transfer. This is by design to protect your privacy.
❓ Do I need to create an account?
No account required! Time Tracker works without any signup or login. Just download and start using it immediately. We don't collect any personal information, so there's nothing to sign up for.
❓ How do I add a new task?
  1. On the Dashboard, tap the "+" floating button at the bottom center
  2. Enter a title for your task
  3. Add an optional description
  4. Set a due date if needed
  5. Tap Save to create the task

The task will appear on your Dashboard and can be edited by tapping on it.

❓ How do I edit or delete a task?
  1. Tap on any task from the Dashboard list
  2. The task will expand to show details and an "Edit" button
  3. Tap Edit to modify the task details
  4. To delete, tap the trash icon in the edit screen

Note: If you try to go back after editing without saving, you'll see a popup asking to confirm — your changes won't be lost accidentally!

❓ How does the Time Log feature work?

The Time Log page lets you track how much time you spend on tasks. Features include:

  • Duration Wheel: Scroll to select hours and minutes for your time entry
  • Recent/Summary Toggle: Switch between recent entries and total summaries
  • Add entries: Log time against specific tasks

All time entries are stored locally on your device.

❓ How do I enable Dark Mode?
  1. Go to the Settings tab (bottom navigation bar)
  2. Tap on the Dark Mode/Light Mode toggle
  3. The app theme will change immediately

The app respects your system theme by default, but you can override it manually in Settings.

❓ Does the app work without internet?
Yes! Time Tracker works completely offline. No internet connection is required for any feature. You can add tasks, log time, and change settings even in airplane mode. This also means your data never leaves your device.
❓ What happens to my data if I uninstall the app?
All your data will be permanently deleted. Since Time Tracker stores everything locally on your device, uninstalling the app removes all your tasks, time logs, and settings. There is no cloud backup to restore from. If you plan to reinstall, consider exporting your data first (if the feature becomes available) or noting down important tasks.

❓ Is Time Tracker really free?
Yes, Time Tracker is completely free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads. We built it as a demo showcasing .NET MAUI and Nalu.Maui capabilities, and we're happy to share it with everyone for free.
❓ Will my data be shared with third parties?
Never. Time Tracker collects no data whatsoever. We don't track you, we don't serve ads, and we don't integrate with any analytics or third-party services. Your data stays on your device — period. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.
